Fake doctor jailed for 3 months in C’nawabganj

A mobile court on Friday sentenced a fake doctor to three months’ imprisonment in Nachole upazila for continuing medical practice without obtaining a certificate. The convict was identified as Milon, son of Bijon Shil, a resident of Darabajpur village in Gomastapur upazila of the district. Milon ran a clinic named ‘Islami Clinic & Diagnostic Centre’ in front of Nachole Mohila College where he had been giving treatment to patients over the last 15 days impersonating a specialist doctor. Tipped off, a team from Nachole police station conducted a raid on the clinic and arrested Milon at night. Later, he was produced before a mobile court, led by executive magistrate Asim Kumar, which handed him the jail term.
Carpenter electrocuted in Jhenaidah

A carpenter was electrocuted and died at Potahati village near Dakbangla Bazer under Jhenaidah Sdar upazila on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Hossain Ali, 19, son of Manwar Hossain of the area. Local said, Hossain Ali was working in the under construction building of some Abdul Khalek at Potahati village at about 10.30 AM. He sustained serious injury from a live wire of electricity and rushed to a local clinic where the attending physician Abdul Mannan declared Hossain Ali dead.Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer in charge Harendra Nath Sarker when contacted admitted the incident and said, an unnatural death (UD) case was filed with the Sadar police station in this connection.
Youth arrested as suspected militant

A team of Coast Guard arrested one youth as suspected militant with Islamic Jihadi literature from DC Ghat area of Barisal port on Friday noon. Md. Ismail Hossain, contigent commander of CG Barisal station, acknowledging the facts said after interrogation the arrestee would be handed over to police. Coast Guard sources said the youth was arrested while roaming in the port area with a bag.After searching his luggage some Islamic Jihadi books, two birth and character certificates were recovered. In the birth certificate issued by local union parishad he was named as Farhad Hossain, 18, son of Hakim Ali and Taslima Begum, village Palpara, union Dhulkhola, upazila Hizla under Barisal district. However another character certificate belongs to him signed by Alhaj Suruj Mia, chairman Vubankura union parishad under Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh district was issued against Farhad Hossain, son of Shakhawat Hossain and Fatema Khatun and permanent resident of ward-6 of the union.
Hanging body of class V student recovered
Hanging dead body of Rakib Laskar, 12, son of Abdul Hakim Laskar of Joyshurkathi , and student of class-five at Mahilara Government Primary School under Gournadi upazila of Barisal, recovered from home by police on Friday noon. lauddin Milon, officer in charge of Gournadi police station, said police recovering the dead body sent to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue lodging a case of unnatural death. Although family sources claimed that Rakib committed suicide for unknown cause, but police could be ascertained cause of death after investigation and receiving postmortem report, OC of Gournadi PS added.
