President and the Chancellor of Eastern University (EU) has appointed AS Mahmud, retired Additional Secretary (Development), Ministry of Education, as the Treasurer of Eastern University for four years from 16 October 2018. Eastern University family cordially welcomes AS Mahmud.
Mahmud received MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka in 1981.
Mahmud has more than 34 years of working experience of which about 7 years in the Ministry of Education in various senior positions.
Mahmud had been the Private Secretary of the Hon’ble Minister of Education. He joined in Bangladesh Civil Service in 1986.
Prior to joining in the Bangladesh Civil Service, he served in various Cadet Colleges as faculty member.
He also carried out responsibilities of Senate Member of the University of Dhaka, Jahangirnagar University, National University and Syndicate member of Barishal University, Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural University, Uttara University, Manarat International University, Bangladesh Islamic University, and also member of the Academic Council of Sonargaon University.
