A day-long annual research review workshop of Chittagong Veterinary & Annimal Science University was held yesterday at 10 am at university conference hall with Vice chancellor Prof Dr Ghoutam Buddha Das as chief guest. Research Director Prof. Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam Khan presided over it.
Among others, Dean of the Fisheries Faculty Prof. Md. Nurul Absar Khan, Dean of Food Science & Technology faculty Prof. Dr. Md. RaihanFaruk , Director of Oral Heath Institute Prof. Dr. Junaid Siddiqui were present in it.
The activities of the 22 Research Project as funded by University Grants commission was presented through multimedia projections in it. The Chief guest in his deliberations said there is no alternative of research work for increasing the reputation of the university .
The VC emphasized the need of research and necessary facilities for research works . He said the work for building Centre of Excellence of the CVASU is undergoing. The VC also called upon the teachers of the university to devote themselves to the research work with more attention , a CVASU PRP sources said.
Ctg night guard killed by robbers: A night guard was killed allegedly by robbers as he tried to resist them at Majumderkhil Bazar in Shantiniketan area of Rangunia upazila in Chittagong on Wednesday, said police.
The deceased Tapan Biswas, 53, was discharging his duty on Tuesday night when the robbers tried to break open the lock of a shop in the bazar. Inspector of Rangunia Police Station Abul Kalam Azad said the robbers might have strangled him as he tried to resist them. The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
