After four years, movie-lovers in Rajshahi are now able to enjoy
movies on the big screen once again. The Grand Riverview Hotel has built its very own theatre, Padma Hall, in the Kazihata area of Rajshahi.
The Padma Hall was inaugurated
with a special screening of Raihan Rafi’s super-hit movie ‘Poran’ last Wednesday, said a press release.
The Padma Hall comprises 230 seats with full air-conditioning facilities. A total of two new halls were being built on the 11th floor of the hotel. Both the halls were initially going to be launched together in 2023, however, due to special requests one of the halls was inaugurated current week.
The screening for ‘Poran’ began on September 1 with a total of three shows. Currently, advance tickets for ‘Poran’ at the Padman Hall have been selling like hot cakes as many people in Rajshahi are eager to watch this movie they have heard so much about.
It is noted that the last movie theatre in Rajshahi, ‘Upohar,’ closed its curtains in October of 2018 with the screening of film ‘Naqab’ starring Shakib Khan, Nusraat Faria and Sayantika Banarjee.
