A new born child was found dead partly wrapped in a box lying abandoned on the Dakatia river bank at Eacholy area -an outskirt of Chandpur Sadar on Tuesday night .
Some locals who went to have bath in the river ghat, spotted the box containing the dead baby lying on the slope of the river bank and informed Police about it. Sadar Model Thana Police SI Jahurul Islam recovered the body in the afternoon on Tuesday and sent it for post mortem to Chandpur General Hospital morgue. OC Md Nasimuddin told the New Nation correspondent that someone might have left the dead baby on the river bank and went away hastily at once.. After autopsy, the baby was buried in the local Municipal graveyard as a lawarish baby on Tuesday night.
