Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Army moved into the final of the Bangabandhu Victory Day Basketball Tournament on Wednesday.
In the day’s first semi-final, Bangladesh Navy defeated Dhumketu Club by 94-46 points at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium.
Shamsuzzaman of Bangladesh Navy top-scored with 35 points, while his teammate Jamil netted 18 points.
On the other hand, Raim of Dhumketu Club caged 23 points, while his teammate Tahsin scored eight points.
In the day’s second semi-final, Bangladesh Army beat Josephites Club by 87-52 points at the same venue.
Wadud of Bangladesh Army scored 19 points and his teammate Alim netted 14 points.
Bangladesh Navy will face Bangladesh Army in the final tomorrow. After the final match, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Syed Shahed Reza will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
Organised by Bangladesh Basketball Federation (BBF), the tournament is being held to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
