The 4th Walton National Youth Women’s Handball Competition starts today at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
Bangladesh Handball Federation has arranged the handball tournament under auspices of Walton Group.
Whip of National Parliament Mahbub Ara Gini will formally open the competition as the chief guest, while Operative Director (Head of Sports & Welfare Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn will be with her as the special guest.
A total of 12 teams splitting into four groups are taking part in the six-day long handball meet.
Rajshahi DSA, Gopalganj DSA, Dinajpur DSA are in Group-A, Naogaon DSA, Narail DSA, Jessore DSA are in Group-B, Bagerhat DSA, Panchgarh DSA, Dhaka DSA are in Group-C, Kushtia DSA, Madaripur DSA, Jamalpur DSA are in Group-D.
The first phase of the tournament will be taken place today and tomorrow.
Top one team from each group will get tickets of the last four. The two semi-finals will be held on August 7.
The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final on August 10.
The champions, the runners-up and the third place achiever team will be awarded trophies.
