Four teams — Chittagong District, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Ansar — reached the semifinals of the Exim Bank 25th National Men’s Handball Championship eliminating their rivals at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here on Monday.
In the semifinals on Tuesday, BGB will meet Chittagong DSA at 2pm while Bangladesh Police will encounter Bangladesh Ansar at 3:30 pm.
Earlier in the day’s 2nd round matches, Panchagarh beat Joypurhat by 27-17 goals; Comilla defeated Faridpur 33-27; Bandarban beat Jessore 25-11; Chittagong beat Kushtia 33-20; BGB outplayed Joypurhat 40-4; Bangladesh Police defeated Faridpur 32-14; Bangladesh Ansar beat Bandarban 47-30 and Chapainawabganj beat Kushtia 16-14.
