National Insurance Day was observed in Kishoreganj yesterday . Kishoreganj District Administration arranged discussion and rally marking the day. A discussion meeting held on District Art Council hall room.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abdullab-al-Mashud presided over the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Murshed Chowhdury attended as Chief Guest. Kishoreganj Govt. Gurudayal College Accounting Deparment Professor Md. Abdul Hamid was attend as special guest.
It was addressed among others by District Awami League President Advocate Kamrul Ahsan Shajahan, Continantal Insurance Manage Anisur Rahman, Jibon Bima Corporation Acting Assistant Manage Md. Sarowar Hossain, Swadesh Life Insurance Manager S.M. Sohahil and Delta Life Insurance Manage Abdul Awal spoke on the occasion. Earlier, a colourful rally was brought out in the town.
Chandpur Correspondent reports : The National Life Insurance Day was observed on Sunday for the first time in Chandpur in a befitting manner.
To mark the day, Chandpur district administration arranged a rally with banner and a discussion meeting.
The rally was brought out in the main streets in the district town from Hasan Ali Government High School playground . It ended at Chandpur Outer Stadium..
ADC General S M Jakaria and Additional Police Super Jahed Parvez Chowdhury jointly led it.
A lot of students, social workers and staffs from different Government and non government Insurance companies took part in the rally. Then a discussion meeting was held with ADC General SM Jakaria in the chair at the Outer stadium.
DC Md Majedur Rahman Khan was the chief guest while Additional Police Super Jahed Parvej Chowdhury was the special guest.
Met Life Insurance Branch Manager Maksudur Rahman, Government Life Insurance Company’ Chandpur Unit’s Manager Jamil Patwary , Popular Life Insurance, Chandpur’s Manager Jewel Ahamed among others spoke on the occasion with reference to the theme/slogan of the day-‘ Bima Diboshe Shapath Kori, Unnoto Desh Gori’.
The speakers laid emphasis upon creating a social awareness about the importance of life insurance in our life. They have added,’ Life Insurance gives all a guarantee for security in life and after death’. Later the chief and the special guests gave away prizes among the winners (students) of different competitions organised marking the day.
BSS from Gaibandha adds:: National Insurance Day was celebrated in the district as elsewhere in the country for the first time in the country’s history yesterday with a call to provide insurance services to the people with trust and confidence.
This year’s theme of the day was “Bima diboshe shopoth kori, unnoto desh gori” translated in English as “We take oath on the insurance day, to build a developed country.”
Marking the day, the district administration chalked out elaborate programmes in cooperation with Insurance development and Regulatory Authority, Bangladesh Insurance Academy and Bangladesh Insurance Forum.
In the morning, a grand rally led by deputy commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin was brought out from Gaibandha Poura Park and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town.
Later, a discussion meeting was also held on the premises of Poura Shaheed Minar with additional deputy commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat in the chair.
Abdul Matin addressed the function as the chief guest and general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, district unit, Abu Bakar Siddique and mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kaibr Milon spoke at the event as special guests.
Earlier, Asoad Hossain, in charge of Delta Insurance Company, made a welcome speech and said the objective of insurance is to financially guard against unpredictable life occurrences.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman joined Alpha Insurance Company on March 1 in 1960, he said, adding that his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina introduced the insurance day nationally for the first ever marking the Mujib Year.
The chief guest in his speeches said insurance is a means of protection of financial loss and all sorts of insurance helps the persons face the hard times.
