DSE loses, CSE gains on Monday

Key share price index at the country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed loss and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced marginal gain on Monday, the second trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX plunged 13.64 points or 0.32 percent to close at 4291.63 on the day. Of the 311 issues traded, 130 gained, 141 declined and 40 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 412.19 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday against Tk 289.57 crore on Sunday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE Were Northern General Insurance, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, Mercantile Bank, Islamic Finance & Investment, Pragati Insurance, Popular Life Insurance, Peoples Insurance, AB Bank 1st Mutual Fund, and Quasem Drycells.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were United Power Generation & Distribution Company, MJL Bangladesh, Saif Powertec, Ifad Autos, and ACI.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 10.30 points to reach 8028.87 at close on Monday. Of the 240 issues traded, 96 advanced, 120 suffered loss and 24 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 38.64 crore on the day at the CSE.
