The Walton Refrigerator 1st National Floorball Competition begins today (Sunday) at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.
Bangladesh Floorball Association will arrange the two-day long floorball meet under auspices of Walton.
A total of four teams will take part in the Boys’ Group while a number of two teams will participate in the Girls’ Group.
Dhaka Warriors, Dhaka Commerce College, Lalbagh Heroes, Rajshahi Young Tigers will play in the Boys’ Group while Dhaka Warriors, Dhaka Commerce College will compete in the Girls’ Group.
Regarding the floorball competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, Additional Director of Walton Kamal Hossain, General Secretary of Bangladesh Floorball Association Solaiman Sikder and Senior News Caster of ATN Bangla Shamim Ara Munni were present at the conference.
The floorball competition is a six-a-side affair. The result of a match is decided on goal basis. The time limit of a match is 60 minutes.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP will inaugurate the meet today as the chief guest while Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don will be present with him as the special guest.
