Khulna Division emerge hat-trick champions

Khulna Division emerged as hat-trick champions in the 19th four-day National Cricket League when they crushed Dhaka Division by an innings and 49 runs in the tie-1 final round match held on Saturday at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan ground in Savar.
Trailing by 346 runs in the first innings, Dhaka Division resumed their second innings on the fourth day (Saturday) with overnight score at 169 and finally dismissed at 297.
Wickets fell in regular intervals in the face of tight bowling display by the Khulna’s bowlers as the remaining Dhaka’s batsmen hardly able to offer any resistance after Rokibul Hasan (58) and Taiabur Parvez (51) fifties.
Skipper Sharif (47) and Nadif Chowdhury (43) were the other notable scorers for Dhaka.
Pacer Rubel Hossain and Mehedi Hasan Miraz finished their spells with three wickets each conceding 64 and 89 runs respectively while Abdur Razzak supported them with two wickets giving away 89 runs.
Earlier, Khulna Division, rode on Anamul Haque’s double ton and Mehedi Hasan’s impressive century, declared their first innings at 459 for 9, in reply to a Dhaka Division’s first innings total of 113.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz of Khulna Division was named the player of the match for his impressive performance.
After the sixth round, Khulna secured 26 points (with bonus pint) with four draw and two wins while Dhaka Division bagged 10 points with five draw and one defeat.

Rangpur-Barisal match ends in a draw

The sixth and final round four-day match between Rangpur Division and Barisal Division of 19th National Cricket League ended in a draw at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Saturday.
Rangpur Division resumed their first innings on the fourth day (Saturday) with overnight score at 570 and finally declared their innings at 614 for 7, in reply to Barisal Division’s first innings a total of 335.
Overnight batsman Nasir Hossain, who completed his first class double ton on the third, narrowly missed triple figure as he fall to Linkon Dey.
The right handed batsman scored 295 runs off 510-ball, an innings that contained 32 boundaries and three over boundaries. Monir Hossain of Dhaka Division finished 3 for 151 while Kamrul Islam Rabbi bagged 2 for 134.
Trailing by 279 runs, Barisal Division stared their second innings in the afternoon and scored 217 for 4 at stumps with Salman 61 and Mosaddek Hossain unbeaten 50 on the crease.
Tanvir Haider of Rangpur bagged 2 for 77 runs. Nasir Hossain of Rajshahi Division was named the player of the match for his impressive bating performance.

Rajin denies Chittgaong’s victory

A responsible ton came from the bat of former national discard Rajin Saleh as Sylhet Division denied Chittagong’s victory as the tier-2 four-day match of 19th National Cricket League ended in a draw held on Saturday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
Rajin played a responsible 104 off 254 balls laced with 12 boundaries and three over boundaries to rescue his side after Sylhet resumed their second innings on the fourth day (Saturday) to chase the target of 459 with overnight score at 78 and scored 309 for 7 at stumps.
Zakir Hossain was remains unbeaten batsman with 46 runs on the crease.
Mehedi Hasan Rana and Ifhtekhar Sazzad shared three wickets each conceding 68 and 112 runs respectively.
Rajin Saleh of Sylhet Division was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
Earlier, Sylhet Division were dismissed their first innings at 137, in reply to a Chittagong’s first innings total of 215. Chittagong Division declared their second innings at 380 for 7.
