N Korea for people-to-people contact with Bangladesh

Ambassador of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Pak Song Yop has expressed his country’s keen interest to build up people to people relationship with Bangladesh.
“We want a people to people relationship for a better understanding between the two nations”, he said while addressing a congratulatory meeting on the occasion of 73rd founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea at National Press Club in the city. Newly founded ‘Journalist Forum Bangladesh Institute of Juche Idea’ organised the meeting with its president Jamal Uddin Jamal in the chair.
The meeting was also addressed, among others, by former State Minister of Information Syed Dider Bakht,Advocate Garib Newaz, director, International Institute of Juche Idea, Prof Mesbah Kamal of Dhaka University, Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, chairman, Bangladesh Institute of Juche Idea, journalist Ershad Majumder and general secretary of Journalist Forum Bangladesh Institute of Juche Idea Mahbub Alam.
Appreciating journalists for forming the new organisation the North Korean ambassador said the people in the media can play a very important role to change the society.
He said journalists can help people by disclosing information and also create awareness about different issues.
He hoped that journalist forum will play a good role to promote the relation between the two friendly countries.
Syed Didar Bakht said North Korea should exchange journalists’ delegation with Bangladesh as part of its plan to develop relationship.
Advocate Garib Newaz said Juche Idea of North Korea had played a significant role to make the country economically and politically independent against the economic embargo from USA.
Prof Mesbah Kamal said North Korea has brought a balance in the global politics by the development of its intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) in the growing tension with USA.
“After such nuclear weapon, USA agreed to hold meeting with North Korean top leader. This weapon will work as good defence system to protect North Korean people from any attack”, he added.
