Staff Reporter :Armed muggers shot a man and snatched away Tk 8.77 lakh from him in the city’s Lalbagh area on Thursday morning.The victim was identified as Hasan Billah Tasreef, 30, an accountant of a dealer house of Shah Cement at Azimpur. Police said Tasreef came under attack of muggers at 54 Kazi Riazuddin Road near Shahi Masjid at about 10:15 am when he was going to his office after taking money from the residence of dealer. The miscreants, around five to six in a gang, blasted some cocktails, shot him in the thigh and took away the money from him. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College in a critical condition.Police failed to recover the looted money and nab anyone till the time of filing of this report at 7:00pm yesterday.The owner of the dealer house filed a case with the concerned police station in this regard.
