Power Development Board, Chittagong Zone under Southern Distribution circle is going to appoint 400 meter readers on contract basis primarily against the power consumers of 8 lakh,35 thousand .
Under the PDB Chittagong, there area only 64 regular meter readers against 13,500 consumers of each reader. Sources said the approved post of meter readers is 12 3 only. PDB, Chittagong chief engineer office sources said to ease the meter reading accurately , authority is going to appoint 400 meter readers on contact basis. Sources said each contractual readers will get remuneration of Tk.3.50 per meter and Tk.2.25 for distribution of bills to the consumers. Following the complaints of the consumers about the unexpected power bills ,authority proposes to appoint the readers for submitting accurate bills.
