A suspected mugger was injured in a ‘gunfight’ between his cohorts and police at Krishnanagar in Kaliganj upazila early Friday.
The victim was identified as Shaheen Sarder, son of Sohel Uddin Batul of Laxminath village in the upazila.
Sub-inspector Kamal Hossain, information officer of Satkhira district police, said a group of muggers intercepted Nirmal Ghosh, son of Janatan Ghosh of Krishnagar village, and snatched Tk 6 lakh from his possession at gunpoint when he reached Chatrar intersection around 2:15 pm on Thursday.
