Salma Begum, 30, the brutal killer mother of her minor son Mahatir Mohammad, gave confessional statement before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Shahadat Hossain in Kishoreganj on Sunday afternoon.
After the confessional statement, the court sent her to Kishoreganj District Jail.
Salma has slaughtered her one and a half year old son Mahatir Mohammad at Parabhanga village in Maria
Union under Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila last month. Mahatir was the youngest of the three sons.
Locals and police said Salma has been suffering from mental anxiety, psychological illness and family disorder.
On February 20, Salma went to her father’s house at Parabhanga village in Sadar Upazila of the district. On the same day, she entered a room with her son and locked the door. She managed a machete and chopped her son’s shoulder and finally, she slaughtered him to ensure the death.
Earlier, Mahatir’s father Abul Kalam Azad lodged a case against his wife for the brutal killing of their minor son.
