The carp fishes release spawn in natural fish breeding centre-Halda River of north Chattogram . Within span of few hours , the fishermen collected 8000 Kgs of spawn from the river, fishermen sources said. The fishermen found fish spawn at about 9.30 pm on Friday after heavy rain with thunder storm.
The fish spawn collectors collected spawn upto 9 a.m yesterday. Confirming the news of releasing spawn, Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi officer Ruhul Amin told this correspondent that collection of spawn begins from 9.30 pm of Friday and about 400 spawn collectors were engaged for spawn collection.
He further apprised that every fishermen collected 15-16 kgs spawn on average and release of spawn completed within two hours on Friday night soon after beginning of thunder storm . The fishermen immediate after sensing the release of spawn started their mission of egg collection from Khalifarghona to Madunaghat point .
UNO also sa id following the measures taken by the local admininistration against indiscrmnate fishing in Halda river , it becomes possible to collect Comparatively more than the earlier.
