The World Food Day was observed across the country on Saturday as elsewhere in the world with the theme “Our actions are our feature, Better production, Better nutrition, a better environment and a better life “.
Kishoreganj district administration and Food and Agriculture Department jointly observed the day.
A discussion meeting was held at local Collectorate conference room on Saturday morning marking the day. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC–General) Nazmul Islam Sarker presided over.
It was addressed among others by Deputy Director (DD) Agriculture Extension Saiful Alam, Additional SP (Crime) Noor-e-Alam, Sadar UNO Md.Ali Siddique, District Food Controller Farhad Khandaker, CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Mohila Awami League district secretary Bilkis Begum, Krishak League district secretary Anowar Hossain Bachu and Magistrate Obaidur Rahman Sohan.
ADC (General) Nazmul Islam Sarker said, the Father of Nation had dreamt to build a developed, happy and prosperous Sonar Bangla through rural and agricultural development and the present government is working relentless to materialse his dream.
DD in Agriculture Saiful Alam says, we have taken measures to distribute fertilisers and diesel among the farmers and provide functional assistance to them for mechanisation of agriculture.
