A mobile court here sentenced a woman and her daughter with 18 months jail each for trading with hemps at Maria area in the district Sadar on Thursday.
The court also fined TK10,000 each and in default, two months more in jail.
The convicts are Amina, 35, wife of Hannan Mia and her daughter Shilpi, 22, wife of Ikbal of the same area.
Senior Executive Magistrate of Kishoreganj Collector Office Abu Taher said a team of joint forces by Rab-14 and CPC-2 conducted the mobile court at the place around 4pm and recovered 2.5 kgs contraband hemps from their possession.
