Federation Cup: Mohammedan face Rahmatganj in opener today

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will face Rahmatganj MFS today in the opening match of the Federation Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. The match kicks-off at 4.00 pm.
In the day’s other match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited will meet Soccer Club, Feni at the same venue. The game starts at 6.15 pm.
A total of 12 teams splitting into four groups are taking part in the football tournament.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited, Team BJMC, Soccer Club, Feni are in Group A, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited, Uttar Baridhara Club are in Group B, Dhaka Abahani Limited, Chittagong Abahani Limited, Farashganj Sporting Club are in Group C, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Brothers Union Limited, Rahmatganj MFS are in Group D.
To mark the ensuing tournament, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation House on Sunday.
Senior Vice-President of BFF and Chairman of Professional Football League Committee of BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy, Deputy Chairman of Professional Football League Committee of BFF Abdur Rahim, General Secretary of BFF Abu Nayeem Shohag, Captains and officials of the participating teams of the Federation Cup were present at the conference.
Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader will inaugurate the football competition as the chief guest while Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy will be present with him as the special guest.
The rates of the tickets are: VIP Gallery-Tk 50 each, West Gallery-Tk 20 each, East Gallery-Tk 20 each.
Manager of Mohammedan Sporting Club Imtiaz Ahmed Nakib said, ” Players of my team are young. We shall fight in the whole tournament.”
Captain of Mohammedan Sporting Club Arup Baidya said, “Most of the players of our team are young. We want to start our campaign with a good note and we try to get success in the tournament.”
Manager of Rahmatganj MFS Shafiq Mahmud said, “Our out-fit is a traditional one. We are giant killer. Tomorrow we want to do something.” Captain of Rahmatganj MFS Dalim said, “Tomorrow we shall do something special.”
Manager of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Anwarul Karim said, “We have good players including foreign recruits. We want to retain our championship title.”
Captain of Sheikh Jamal Nasir said, “We have to work hard to retain the title.” Manager of Soccer Club, Feni Tajoar M Awal said, “We want to fight in the whole tournament.”
Captain of Soccer Club, Feni Ridon said, “We want to play in the final of the every competition.”
After the press conference officials of BFF and players, officials of clubs brought out a colourful rally in the city.
