Mixed day for Bangladesh in Asian Chess

National junior runner-up Ikramul Haq Siam won his first round game in the Asian Junior and Girls Under-16 Chess Championships that began on Saturday at Tagaytay city of Philippines.
In the first round Siam beat Ahmed Alzarovni of the UAE.
In the girls’ section, national junior girl’s champion Zahuratul Zannat Zisha lost her 1st round game, Zisha lost to WFM Zhylkaidarova Sholpan of Kazakhstan.
A total of 14 players including two International masters and two FIDE Masters from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Mongolia, the Philippines, Guam and the UAE are participating in the junior section.
Besides, sixteen players including one woman international master and six women FIDE masters from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Kazakhstan and the UAE are taking part in girls’ section.
