Mirza Fakhrul enters self quarantine

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has gone into a self-quarantine at home after one of his family members contaminated with coronavirus.
Mirza Fakhrul was scheduled to attend the birthday celebration programme of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman but he failed to participate it physically due to the contamination of one of his family members. Later he joined the function via videoconference and confirmed about the news.
Mirza fakhrul said, “I am sorry that I could not attend this programme because corona has been caught in my house. As a result, I have entered for self quarantine for 14 days.”
The BNP leader said,“Many, including our senior leaders Mirza Abbas, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas, have been affected by the disease. We have lost many of our party also.”
Family sources said that his brother-in-law Kazi Ekramul Rashid has been diagnosed with the covid-19 infection. He was staying at the BNP leader’s house in Uttara but was admitted to Square Hospital after tested covid-19 positive.
Addressing the leaders and workers at the occasion, the BNP leader said, “I would request everyone to note that we are now going through a difficult time, a bad time. But in these difficult times, we have to be alert and wake up mentally. We have to remember that we have a great responsibility for the nation.”
