Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) hosted a mime performance on Thursday at its La Galerie titled Another World by Mir Lokman.
Since establishing the Dhaka University Mime Action (DUMA) in 2011, Mir Lokman has been working for the last eight years to employ mime in the national dialogue for public awareness as well as to reclaim mime’s lost glory.
He has performed at a number of distinguished venues in Bangladesh and abroad. With a dream to establish a dedicated mime centre in Bangladesh, Lokman continues to develop his repertoire and perform in mime shows focusing on manifold topics and themes.
Featuring eight sketches, this is the 10th full-length solo mime show of Lokman.
The production described a number of contemporary global and local crises and will put forth a theatrical transformation of the troubled world into a peaceful one.
