Metro set Chittagong to score 373 on day 4

Dhaka Metro took a firm grip as they set Chittagong Division a massive 384 target to win when the stumps were drawn on day three of the first round four-day National Cricket League held on Sunday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Chittagong were 11 for no loss when bad light stopped play on the third day needing a difficult target of 373 for win tomorrow, on the final day of the match while their rival need ten wickets to wrap up the show.
After having advantage of 214 runs first innings lead, Dhaka Metro resumed on Sunday at overnight total at 12 for 2 at stumps.
Marshall Ayub with a flamboyant 74 and well supported Asif Ahmed with 57 saw Dhaka Metro declared their innings closed on 169 for 6 declared leaving their rival to chase a mammoth 384 to win in the remaining time.
Mehdi Hasan Rana was the leading wicket taker for Chittagong with three for 37 and Belal Hossain supported him with two for 53.
Earlier, on the second day, a devastating bowling display Nahid Uz Zaman saw Chittagong Division dismissed their first innings at a paltry total of 130, in reply to a Dhaka Metro’s first innings total of 344.
Apart from Nahid’s five wickets for 45 runs Sharif Ullah picked up two wickets conceding 37 runs.
