Media urged to play role to eliminate child labour

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu called for banning child labour to establish humanitarian society and to protect future manpower.
He said this on Thursday while addressing the closing session of the function on “consciousness of media to eliminate child labour” at Jatiya Chitrashala auditorium at Shilpakala Academy in the city.
The minister urged the media to play more sincere role to eliminate child labour.
“To build a prosperous country, there is no alternative to eliminate child labour, stop child marriage, send every child to school and stop dowry,” he added.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad chaired the function while Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) Deputy Director Dr Mahfuzur Rahman Bhuiyan, private run ’71 Television’ Director Syed Ishtiaque Reza, CSID Project Manager M Akram Hossain and World Vision Tanjina Aktar addressed the function as special guests.
