UNB, Dhaka :Terming the news of several media outlets over seeking presidential clemency by death-row war crimes convict Jamaat leader Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojaheed confusing and ‘false’, Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday called upon all concerned to stop publishing those news.Acting secretary general of the party Dr Shafiqur Rahman issued a statement in this regard.He said, “Quoting the jail authorities, several media outlets have been circulating that Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojaheed sought presidential clemency. The news is absolutely false and confusing.”Mojaheed expressed his desire to his family members to consult the lawyers about seeking presidential clemency, Shafiqur added in the statement.He said although Mojaheed sought permission from the jail authorities to meet his counsels, the authorities did not give the permission yet.
