The five- day programmes in observance of the 5th death anniversary of former Narsingdi Pourashava’s Mayor Lokman Hossain organised by Lokman Hossain Foundation ended here with a remembrance meeting on Saturday.
A remembrance meeting in observance of the 5th death anniversary of Lokman Hossain the popular Mayor of Narsingdi Pourashava was held at local Awami League office premises on Saturday evening.
On November -1, 2011 a group of assailants (masked men) gunned down the mayor Lokman at 8-15 pm when he was in local Awami league office talking with some party leaders.
State Minister for Water Resources and the president of Narsingdi district Awami League LT Col (Retd) Nazrul Islam Hiro (Birpratik)MP addressed the meeting as chief guest with Mayor of Narsingdi Pourashava and president of Narsingdi Town Awami League Kamruzzaman Kamrul was in the chair.
Organised by the district and town Awami League the remembrance meeting was addressed among others by former MP Anwarul Ashraf Khan Dilip, former MP Johirul Hoque Mohan, General Secretary of Narsingdi district Awami League Abdul Motin Bhuiyan, Vice president of district Awami league Gm Taleb Hossain, General Secretary Of Narsingdi Sadar upazila Awami League, Wife of saline Mayor Lokman Hossain Tamannah Nushrath Bubli, President of Lokman Sangram Parishad Pirjada Mohammad Ali and general secretary of town Awami League Advocate Amjad Hossain.
The chief guest Nazrul Islam said Lokman Hossain was the gold medalist two times popular Mayor of Narsingdi pourashava . Lokman will remain alive in the heart of the people of Narsingdi pouradwellers forever. He said the verdict of the Lokman murder case must be execute immediately and the killers will also be punished.
