BNP joint secretary general and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) general secretary Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and ex-BNP MP Sakhawat Hossain Bakul were released from Kashimpur jail here on Wednesday morning.
When the two leaders walked out of the jail around 11 am local BNP leaders and activists welcomed them at the jail gate. The High Court on Monday granted six-month ad interim bail to Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon in three separate cases under the Explosives Substance Act.
Khokon, who was arrested from near Matsya Bhaban in the capital on December 26 last year and later shown arrested in three separate cases filed against him under the Explosives Substance Act.
Besides, Detective Branch of police arrested Sakhawat Hossain Bakul from in front of the BNP Chairperson’s residence on December 25. He was shown arrested in a vandalism case filed with capital’s Bhatara Police Station.
