Bangladesh’s celebrited golfer Siddikur Rahman teed off in the $3 million Maybank Championship and shared 19th place after the 1st round at Saujana Golf and Country Club, Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
The only Bangladeshi golfers in the tournament, Siddikur carded three-under-par 69, six shots behind the leader Marc Warren (Scotland) who shot nine-under-par 63.
The two times Asian Tour winner Siddikur traded an eagle, three birdies and two bogies in the 1st round. He eagled to put the 3rd hole, birdied in the 4th, 12th and 17th holes but bogeyed in the 11th and 16th.
A total of 155 golfers from across the world are contending in the tournament where Siddikur qualified as Category 9(a) golfer.
