In the Dhaka South City Corporation, there has been mass transfers of engineers.
The DSCC on Wednesday transferred 51 engineers and 17 Working Assistants of engineering departments.
Earlier, the authority conducted simultaneous transfers of Ward Secretaries and waste management officials and inspectors.
Experts said there was no such record of mass and simultaneous transfers in last 20 years in the city corporation’s history.
It as a positive matter, despite transfer phobia on the DSCC premises.
DSCC Mayor Barrister Fazle Noor Tapash transferred several top most officials from engineering and revenue departments after elected on May 16.
He transferred three Superintendent Engineers on June 20. Then he transferred 57 officials including Deputy Chief Waste Management Officer,
waste management officials and waste management inspectors on June 29.
Sources said those officials had been working in different zones years after years though allegations of irregularities and corruptions were existing against them.
DSCC Mayor initiated such measures to eliminate corruptions and irregularities, his close sources said.
On the other hand, the corrupt officials are becoming frustrated after getting transfer order.
Many of those are trying to start lobbing through political arena, but mayor’s close allies said, no lobbing can see success in this regards. Besides, some officials are happy with getting transfer order saying it is rare to get transfer without hard lobbing.
