The BNP on Saturday said, the current government won’t be able to stay in power for long as it has become detached from people of the country.
“The government realises that Khaleda Zia has become more popular because of her practical and thoughtful thoughts and perceptions. They fear to lose the battle. That is why they may take a different way to remain in power. But it cannot stay in power for long,” viewed BNP Secretary-General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir while launching the party’s mass signature campaign at its Nayapaltan office on Saturday.
The party men should join all programme peacefully.
“I am telling workers to remain associated with all programmes to free our leader Begum Khaleda Zia from jail. Do not respond to any type of provocation,” Mirza Fakhrul warned.
Standing Committee Members of the party put their signatures on a form as part of the drive.
On Friday, the party announced to hold a public rally in the city on February 22 to press home their demands.
