Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday night as he felt pain in his chest. A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police took Manna to the hospital around 11:00pm after he complained of chest pain. Manna was kept at Coronary Care Unit (CCU), said Dr Tawsif, Indoor Medical Officer (IMO) of the DMCH, who is also treating Manna. Dr Tawsif, however, said he (Manna) has high blood pressure and the decision about his admission to the hospital will be taken once the reports of some other tests will be in hand. On expiry of the 10-day remand, Manna has been placed on a fresh 10-day police remand on March 7 in a sedition case filed with Gulshan Police Station. An audio tape of a long telephone conversation purportedly between BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka and Manna were leaked on February 22. In the audio tape, Manna briefs Khoka, now living in the US for eight months, about his plans to take out a march from National Press Club on Feb 23. Manna advises Khoka to `tell your people` to go in for a massive showdown and unleash a bloody clash at the Dhaka University (DU). –risingbd.com
