UNB, Chittagong :
Police arrested a man along with three light guns in Shah Amanat Third Bridge area of the city on Saturday afternoon.
The arrestee was identified as Mostaque Ahmed, 50, a resident of Ramu upazila in Cox’s Bazar district.
Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Bakalia Police Station, said being tipped-off that a consignment of firearms was entering the city, police conducted a drive in the area around 3.00pm and arrested Mostaque along with the illegal firearms.
