New Zealand batting all-rounder, Rachin Ravindra believes Bangladesh’s pace attack would give a challenge to the hosts in the upcoming two-match Test series.
“I think they have a lot of exciting fast bowlers at the moment. We faced a few of them during the T20Is [in Bangladesh] and they bowled really fast. It shows that they have come a long way as a cricketing side in the last few years,” Ravindra said in a video posted by the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Twitter on friday.
Rachin highlighted the performance of the Tiger pacers during the T20I series before the T20 World Cup and said Bangladesh will be a good side to beat. “As we have experienced in the T20I series in Bangladesh, it was seriously tough cricket by them. And they have got some experienced players. They will be a good side [to beat in the Tests] and we would just need to do what we have been doing for a number of years and hope to come out on top,” Ravindra added.
Bangladesh will play two Tests against the Kiwis which is part of the World Test Championship. Bangladesh since 2001 have played 32 international games in New Zealand and have not been able to win one.
The first Test will begin on January 1 at Mount Manganui while the second and final Test will start on January 9 in Christchurch.
