Business Desk :Majumder Group celebrated its golden jubilee (50 years) of foundation through unveiling a new logo at the Bashundhara International Convention Centre in the city on Tuesday. BGMEA President Atiqul Islam inaugurated the programme as the chief guest while chairman of Majumder Group Syedul Haque Majumder attended the function as special guest.Addressing the inaugural ceremony, BGMEA president said Majumder Group has been playing a key role in the country’s apparel sector since its inception.Majumder Group chairman said their organisation has also been working for women empowerment, reducing unemployment, contributing to national foreign exchange earnings, environment-friendly production facilities, and poverty alleviation. During the event, the company honoured its 30 employee for outstanding “We will make profit if we can, we will make loss if we must, but we will never fail our commitment,” he added. Majumder Group started its business in the 1965 by the hands of AKM Fazlul Haque Majumder Now the company is doing business of raw jute trading; Majumder jute Baling Ltd, readymade garments sector (RMG). The company established its first shirt factory in the early 1980s. To meet rising international demand, capacities and operations were expanded – a sourcing office, a new shirt factory and packaging unit were launched respectively by early 1990s.
