TCB’s open sell from Thursday

Desperate to keep prices of essential commodities under control before and during Ramzan, the government will sell five goods in the open market from Thursday.
The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) in a media release said it will sell the essential commodities, including sugar and lentil, on trucks at 174 points across the country.
Official at the government’s trading arm, Humayun Kabir, told bdnews24.com soyabean oil, chickpeas and dates will also be sold.
A customer will be able to buy maximum four kilograms of sugar at Tk 37 per kg, he said. Lentil (Nepalese) will be sold at Tk 103 a kg, with the buying ceiling for each person being two kg.
One will be able to buy highest three kg chickpeas at Tk 53 a kg. Soyabean oil will be sold at Tk 89 per litre for bottles of one and two litres. The price will be Tk 88 a litre for bottles of five litres. A customer will be able to buy highest five litres of soyabean oil.
TCB’s Kabir said more commodities will be added to the programme.
