In-form batsman Mahmudullah Riyad has changed his batting under supervision of Chandika Hathurusingha, the Head Coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team.
Riyad passed his ten years in international cricket this month. Mahmudullah made his international debut in ODI against Sri Lanka on July 25 in 2007. The 31-year middle order right-hand batsman is now matured, experienced and in-form.
Riyad said to a website, ” I think Hathurusingha played the key role for my development. I think his guidance helps me to be a middle order batsman.”
He said, ” I think all the cricketers of our team have improved their batting as Hathurusingha has given us freedom to bat in the matches. Hathurusingha suggested me to bat in number four, thus my batting has been changed. When I started my career I thought I could bat well in top-order. But now I think I do perform well in middle-order and Hathurusingh helped me for my confidence. Hathurusingh has given freedom all of us to bat in any situation which helps us very much.”
Mahmudullah Riyad hit a superb 102 against New Zealand in ICC Champions Trophy. He hit a century and struck a half century in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy.
