The health condition of senior journalist Mahfuz Ullah remained unchanged.
‘His condition is critical,’ Mahfuz Ullah’s daughter Nusrat Homaira told journalists around 3:30pm on Monday. She is accompanying her father in a Bangkok hospital.
Mahfuz Ullah, 69, who has been suffering from various complications in heart, kidney and lung, is now undergoing treatment at Bumrungrad International Hospital.
His all medication has been suspended as his
condition deteriorated on Sunday. He, however, responded to the family members at about 12:00am on Monday.
The journalist was earlier admitted to the city’s Square Hospital with chest pain on April 2. He was flown to Thailand on April 10 for better treatment.
Writer and Columnist Mahfuz Ullah, a former leader of Bangladesh Students Union, is vocal and well-known for his critical views in TV talk-shows.
He recently authored books on BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and its incumbent Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
He was currently working on a book on the life of MAG Osmani, Commander-in-Chief of the Bangladesh Armed Forces during the War of Independence, said his brother Mahbub Ullah, a former Professor of Dhaka University.
