State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak urged the local administrative officials to work in creating technical capabilities, strict enforcement of laws and creating awareness to ensure cyber security.
The state minister said this while speaking at an online seminar titled “Digital Security” organized recently by the Digital Security Agency of the Information and Communication Technology Division (ICT) as the chief guest with the participation of the officials working in the field administration.
He called for raising awareness both at personal and institutional level to this end so that none can be misled by spreading falsehoods.
He also said that the ICT division has launched a campaign on ‘Asol Chini’ to create awareness among people of all classes and professions including students, teachers and parents. Calling upon the next generation to protect themselves from cyber threats, he said, a ‘fact checker’ and a ‘Janatar portal’ will be launched soon to verify false information online.
The state minister said in order to build the ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, it is necessary to build ideal, conscious and worthy golden people everywhere, including in administration, educational campus and judiciary. With Digital Security Agency Director General Md Rezaul Karim in the chair, the seminar was virtually attended, among others, by Senior Secretary of ICT Division NM Ziaul Alam and Professor and noted writer Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal.
