Litton Das hits third century in Test cricket

Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das remained unbeaten with 135 runs against Sri Lanka on the first day of the second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Monaday.
Bangladesh faced an early debacle as they lost five wickets for 24 runs. Later, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das salvaged their team from disaster scoring together 253 runs in the unbroken sixth wicket stand before the two umpires drew the bails for the first day of the second Test. Litton Das hit 16 fours and one sixes in his 252-ball knock. Litton Das reached his third hundred-run landmark in Test cricket capitalizing 149 deliveries including 13 boundaries. Litton Das reached his fifty-run landmark using 96 deliveries with eight fours. Earlier, Litton Das was deprived from a century in the first Test match against Sri Lanka at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on May 18. Litton Das scored 88 runs.
However, the wicketkeeper-batter hit his career-best 135 (not out) on the first day of the second Test at the ‘Home of Cricket’. He played 55 innings and scored 1953 runs, just 47 runs away from 2000 runs in Test cricket. In-form Litton Das, who is now 27 years old made his debut in 2015 against India at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah of Narayanganj.
