Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal has urged the parents to be vigilant in controlling their children. They should know, if their children form gangs, those will be eradicated as done in the case of militancy. But it is not possible to prevent teenage gangs without parent’s participation.
The Home Minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the anti-juvenile anti-crime social campaign activities and rape-made TVC at the Madhubagh Bir Muktijoddha Assaduzzaman Khan Complex Auditorium in the capital’s Moghbazar.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, it has been recently seen that teenagers are involved with various crimes. The juvenile correctional facility is not being accommodated due to the rising crime rate and the number of arrests. The young generation that will lead the future, everyone should be aware so that they do not lose their way.
Parents need to watch where their children are going. Everyone has to work in drug control, he added.

said, ‘since the last three to four years, juvenile gangs have created many challenges in maintaining law and order. Juvenile law has also been updated. Although legal action has already been taken, it is no longer possible to take such action due to the current law.
After arrest, they are sent to a juvenile detention center. There is also the issue of parental control, where social control is needed, IGP added.
As a special guest on the occasion, Nasima Begum, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, said that parental extra affection or not giving enough time affects the minds of children.
In the education system, it is not legal to physically abuse children, but emphasis should be laid on counseling, she added.
Speaking on the occasion, RAB Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said, “If juvenile offenders are arrested, they have to be handed over to the probation officer.” However, it is very difficult and complicated to get a probation officer after arrest at different upazila level.
‘Therefore, he called for raising awareness among the parents by creating awareness to guide the future generation in the right direction.
RAB Additional Director General Colonel Abul Kalam Azad said, “There will be no juvenile gang in the country. The origin of gang culture is from western countries. We want to bring the light from the dark. We want to change the psychological issues of teenagers. The elders who lead the society, must also come forward. They have to make understand that this path is wrong. Adolescents need to be prepared for healthy recreation and regular lifestyle, he added.
