State Minister for Labour and Employment M Mujibul Haq said that initiatives have been taken to form committees both at government and private levels aiming to eliminate risky child labour by 2021.
He said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at a national advisory committee meeting on making road map for eliminating child labour in light with the target of sustainable development at CIRADAP auditorium organized by Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum.
Among others, secretary to the primary and mass education ministry M Humayun Khalid, joint secretary to the labour and employment ministry Khondokar Mustak Hossain addressed the meeting with forum chairman M Emranul Haq Chowdhury in the chair.
As a part of the national work plan, the state minister said, coordinated initiatives would also be taken by fixing the focal points of different ministries for eliminating child labour.
