A woman was killed and her daughter injured in a lightning strike at Bharuakhali area under Barobakia union in Pekua upazila here on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Golseher Begum, 37, wife of Rahim Dad of the area.
The injured Rimu Akter, 17, was admitted to Pekua Health Complex.
Locals said, at 4:30pm on Sunday, the woman and her daughter were repairing their earthen hut when lightning struck them, leaving her dead on the spot and her daughter injured.
Local UP Member Md Yunus confirmed the incident.
