Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton on Thursday said present government has been striving to set up three industrial estates in Rajshahi for improving its socio-economic condition through bolstering economic activities.
He said the government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for balanced development of the country as it is very much positive towards overall development of Rajshahi’s.
The Mayor made this observation while addressing a view-sharing meeting with industrialists of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) here at the city bhaban conference hall as chief guest.
Industrialists Liakat Ali, Abdul Maleque, Syed Ahmed Jaki, Sazzad Ali and Aminul Islam also spoke.
Liton told the meeting that development works of the second industrial estate of BSCIC are progressing fast on 50 acres of land at Parila Kechuatoil area under Paba upazila in the district aimed at generating employment opportunities for above 5,000 people.
He said the development works are being implemented under a project titled “Rajshahi BSCIC Industrial Estate-2? involving around TK 172 crore including TK 105 crore for land development that will also help flourishing the industrial sector in the city and its outskirts.
