Staff Reporter :
Bangladesh Bar Council Tribunal-2 on Wednesday cancelled the Bar Council Certificate of Md Kamruzzaman, a member of Comilla Lawyers Association, on charge of holding a lecturer post at an MPO funded Educational Institution.
A three-member tribunal headed by S M Rezaul Karim said that Md Kamruzzaman violated the Legal Practioners Act titled Bar Council Order and Rules 1972 of 32 (1). As he had hidden the
information of holding a lecturer post at a college, he violated the rules.
Kamruzzaman was holding the post of a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at a Madrasah. Being a lecturer of an educational institution, he was practicing law at the same time. He was listed as a lawyer with the Comilla Bar Council on October 20, 2002.
Kamruzzaman can now file an appeal against the Council’s order with the High Court in 90 days, said the lawyers.
