Six more killed in road crashes

At least six more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Thursday.
In Cumilla, two persons died in separate road crashes in Burichang upazila of the district on Thursday.
One of the deceased was identified as Abu Selim, son of Aji Uddin, from Varera village of Sherpur district.
Local sources said that a Chattogram-bound light covered van rammed a vehicle at Korpai of the upazila at 7:30 am. Front part of the covered van was also damaged. As a result, the van driver died on the spot.
Meanwhile, police recovered an unidentified body of a man from Kalakchua of the upazila around 7:30 am. The man is believed to have died in a road accident.
Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mainamati Highway Police station endorsed the news of deaths to media.
In Noakhali, A Madrasa Principal named Masudur Rahman (52) met tragic death when a jeep struck him at Hatiya of Noakhali District.
His assistant was also injured in the incident.
The accident took place on the north of Choumuhani Bazar around 10pm on Thursday.
The deceased Masudur Rahman was the Principal of Choumuhani Tabarakkia Ali Madrassa.
Akteruzzaman Sikder, officer-in-Charge of Hatiya Police Station confirmed the news.
In Khulna, an old man was killed when a motorcycle rammed him in Paikgaccha upazila on Thursday.
Aminul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Paikgaccha police station, said Makbul Hossain, 70, sustained injuries when a motorbike hit him while crossing a road around 9:00pm on Wednesday.
He was taken to Paikgaccha Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries around 9:30am on Thursday.
In Narail, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Sadar upazila of Narail on Thursday morning.
The deceased Akash Sheikh (18), son of Yunus Sheikh, was a resident of Kalia upazila.
Akash died on the spot when a Khulna bound bus hit his motorcycle at Simakhali in the upazila around 10.00 am.
Anwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Narail Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
In Madaripur, A child named Shihab (8) was killed by a Easy bike in Madaripur. The accident took place at Kharagpur beside the Madaripur-Shariatpur Regional Road on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Shihab, son of Abdur Rab Bepari from Khoyazpur Union of Madaripur Sadar upazila.
Madaripur Sadar upazila Angulkata Police Outpost confirmed the matter to media.
