Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) has attained an ever highest profit of Taka 35.96 crore during the recently concluded 2018-19 financial year, up by Taka 29.43 crore than that of the previous fiscal.
Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Krishi Bank in Khulna Region Shikdar Touhidul Islam said the state-owned specialized bank had made an operating profit of Taka 6.53 crore during the last 2017-18 fiscal.
At the initial stage of the fiscal, the bank management had formulated a work plan and given direction to the field level workforce for its proper implementation in order to transform the financial institution into a profit-earning and self-reliant one.
BKB in Khulna region has setup target of loans TK. 1,463 crore while disbursed Taka 929.34 crore as loans in the 2018-2019 fiscal year to help boost rural economy and generate employment through enhancing agricultural and non-agricultural production in the region.
