UNB, Dhaka :
Malaysia is going to recruit five lakh overseas jobseekers from Bangladesh this year under the new business-to-business (B-B) mechanism.
The five lakh workers will be picked from the existing data base of 1.4 million jobseekers maintained by the government. The decision came at a meeting between Malaysian Home Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Khandker Moshararraf Hossain, held at Putrajaya, Malaysia, said a press release signed by Expatriates’ Welfare & Overseas Employment Ministry joint secretary Kazi Abul Kalam.
During the meeting, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain underscored the importance of manpower export under an exploitation-free process and with a reasonable migration cost.
The welfare and security of the workers have to be guaranteed by the employers, he added. The minister suggested that the employees can be hired from the existing data base to ensure transparency and Bangladesh has got training academy where every worker is trained for 48 days before the selection for migration.
Welcoming Bangladesh’s proposal, the Malaysian Home Minister said the authorised workers are welcome to apply for employment through online which will be monitored by the agencies of the government.
