BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the killers are getting shelter from the government.
He made the allegation at a protest rally at Nayapaltan in Saturday, arranged in protest against the murder of BUET student Abara Fahad.
Rizvi said, “We have seen that if Chhatra League commits any crime, the government protects it. The murderers of Noor Hossain Babu of Natore have not been tried. The killer of Rana of Natore was sentenced to death but the President has pardoned him.”
During the Awami League regime, a total of 69 killers were given death sentence but later all of them received state pardon.
Of them, late President Zillur Rahman had pardoned 34 killers while the incumbent President Abdul Hamid 35 killers, the BNP leader added.
Rizvi said, “Suddenly we see the money mines, dollar mines, casino mines. If nothing has happened in the last 10 years, then why the public has raised big questions about this.”
